Inbound and Outbound Logistics management - Safeducate

Logistics can be easily divided into two parts



  1. Inbound logistics. 
  2. Outbound logistics. 



Inbound Logistics takes care of parts like Sourcing, Expediting and then receiving the goods that comes to the organization. Whereas, Outbound Logistics takes care of the warehouse, packaging the product and ensuring the smooth transportation from the organization.




Logistics majorly works on the managing the movement of commodities or goods, information and other various resources between two points , Like from the point a product is manufactured to the point of Consumption, in sync with the requirement of the customer and organization. Logistics management determines the procurement , storage and transportation of the goods and commodities to the end destination. The major difference between inbound and Outbound Logistics is- That Inbound Logistics takes care of purchasing, storing and distributing of the incoming goods to the manufacturing unit. On the other hand Outbound Logistics refers to the transporting , selecting, packaging and final movement of the goods to the end user. Inbound logistics takes care of sourcing and receiving of material and its management whereas outbound logistics mainly takes care of customer service and distribution channels.

The inbound logistics is more focused on the utilization of resources and raw materials, within the production or assembly plant on the other hand outbound logistics focuses on the outflow of final product from the firm to the end user. In inbound logistics the contact is majorly between the supplier and the company whereas outbound logistics refers to the contact between the buyer and the Company. Logistics focuses at providing right goods, at decided time, in the right quantity and condition, at proper place and price.
